Do you feel confident reporting on victims, survivors, people who are distressed, grieving or going through a tough emotional time? This two-hour workshop will cover the basics of trauma reporting, including:

  • Trauma awareness, empowerment and the key skills of effective journalism
  • How you can work sensitively and respectfully with your interviewees
  • How to handle the potential emotional impact on your wellbeing

This workshop is for journalists of all levels of experience working in news, features and factual programming who deal with emotionally vulnerable interviewees and cover challenging topics.

The deadline for registration is Friday, April 26th. A fully refundable deposit of £30 is required to secure your place.


Please note:

  • This workshop is only open to British freelance journalists or those currently based in the UK.
  • You must have worked as a freelance journalist for at least one year to participate.
